the eye behind the lens

It all started with the first click that sparked true love. The camera is my prime weapon, aimed to capture the music that makes the whole world dance. It isn’t about the equipment in the photographer’s hand, but the person behind the camera that makes the photograph come to life.

It all starts with the eye, the eye that sees what no one else can. It is the eye that tells you to lay on the dirty ground or jump off stage while a band performs to obtain that perfect shot. That shot that makes your viewer feel the music. To have the viewer hear the strum of each guitar string and the scream in a singer’s voice; that is my mission. It’s about bringing the feeling of that performance back to everyone who was there, and to everyone who wasn’t. These photographs will leap off the paper and into the brain, sending a symphony of emotions through the viewer’s body.

These photographs will be the portraits for the love the artist has for their music. The undying love and passion they have for the notes they play, for the lyrics they sing. These are odes to all those who could not be there to see them play. The lens shall capture what no other has ever seen, to view the performance in a way that even the fans could not dream of. The stage will set the scene for a love that has carried unconditionally for years, one that connects the artist with the fan. Music is the one common thing that ties everyone in the world together; my hope is to capture its beauty in every photograph. They will sing of love in the tune I could not carry in my voice, but could capture with my eye.
